I'm telling you they are not RELEVANT. They are NOISE - not signal.
I'm not lumping you. I'm deciphering you. It SEEMED that you think some number of cheering iranians has some meaning that I should take note of. I'm assuring you that I disagree.
We are not isolated. We have more overseas bases than there are overseas nations. Makes ya pretty hard to isolate. But were ARE trending in that direction. Nations are scrambling to disentangle. We have bared our teeth, ceased to disguise our true ambitions.
I'm anti-war. There is no excuse for it. There is only propaganda for it.
The pretense that countries are begging for us to attack them is simply not credible. Iran has bent over backwards for decades, and still we invent reasons to attack them. Hell, Russia petitioned to join NATO. We said HELL no - we need an enemy.
When I say Iran has bent over backwards, I am not denying it has funded freedom fighters that oppose israel and the US. I'm not saying they have surrendered any and all strategic objectives or ceased to pursue those objectives. What I am saying is that they are a member state of the IAEA and have signed treaties allowing generous access to IAEA inspectors. TRUMP withdrew from that treaty - not Iran. And that fact, all by itself, utterly eviscerates the pretense that this war has ANYTHING to do with Iran not getting a nuclear weapon. WE HAD THAT. And we threw that in the bin, so that we could have this war.
If that cackling trollop were president, we would still have this war. It is in the nature of empire to expand or contract. Republics tend toward stability and peaceful relations.
You reference the propaganda on both sides and the confusion thereby generated. I certainly do not disagree. But I can assure you that I am not confused. I understand that we had every assurance against Iran getting nukes, and we said **** that - where's the excuse for war in THIS ****? I can also read a pattern. This country has not known a day of peace in my lifetime. We are the common denominator.
